Sorry for the lack of updates. I’ve been a little busy with work and other activities lately.
Thanks to Wes (@WesStull) and his employer (I think), I was able to attend the Caps game against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. We had a great time hanging out with dailyfaceoff.com contributor, Reggie Yinger (@fakehockey; thanks for the ride), and our Twitterless friend and real life hockey teammate, Brian. Those three are some real beauties.
While at the game, we met some pretty cool Sabres fans. In particular, the gentleman in the Ryan Miller shersey and the guy in the “sweet duster”, who chirped with us in section 216. Thanks for putting up with us yelling at you for the entire game and then shaking hands after.
Then at The Greene Turtle, while postponing the agonizing Metro ride, we met Fake Pat LaFontaine and Drunk Dave. Reggie and I immediately spotted the Buffalo #16 sweater and being American hockey fans, had to shake that guy’s hand. Fake LaFontaine told us that he moved to DC for his job and that he was actually a Caps season ticket holder. We were then introduced to Drunk Dave who wore a Thomas Vanek jersey. We all recounted Vanek’s filthy goal to beat the Capitals in overtime last week.
I wanted to keep it positive today and not write about the debacle in Atlanta last night. These “visiting” fans were very cool. There’s no doubt, they possessed much more class than the Philly faithful on their way to Verizon Center this evening (oops, that was sort of negative).
