No sooner did I publish the last of the scouting reports for the Alumni previously scheduled to appear in Hagerstown this Saturday, did I notice the NHL Alumni roster updates.  According to the Hagerstown Ice & Sports Complex website, the following NHL Alumni are now scheduled to appear.

This just got real.

Everyone I grew up with watched Peter Bondra score a ton of goals for the Caps.  Then, you have Sylvain Cote.  I wore #3 my first year of in-house hockey, playing defense, because of him.  Yvon Labre was the first Cap to score a goal at home and was the first player to have a number (#7) retired in Washington Capitals history.  Ken Sabourin played 74 games for the 1988-1989 Flames team that won the Stanley Cup.  Sabourin is currently the color analyst on the Capitals radio broadcasts.  For anyone that is a Caps fan, this event Saturday is a great chance to meet some of the true legends in Washington Capitals history.

Remember, the NHL Alumni vs. Hagerstown Adult Hockey League game is set to start at 5:00pm on Saturday, September 25th.  Doors open at 4:00pm.  Tickets to the event are $15.  The event also includes an appearance by Slapshot and a silent auction that will include many pieces of Capitals memorabilia.  All proceeds of the game and event will benefit the Hagerstown Youth Hockey Association.  The HYHA operates the facility and is hoping to use the funds generated Saturday to make improvements like new showers.  I am not sure how many tickets are left so, contact the rink for more details.
